Pre-existing Program Modules
Students have the option of selecting their modules of study after completing first year. The various modules allow students to develop both specialist and more general degree programs. A student may thus focus on Indigenous courses and obtain a degree in Indigenous Studies or combine Indigenous Studies with work in other disciplines.
Modules require specific courses or a combination of courses. Students may select one of the following modules:
Honours Specialization in Indigenous Studies
Honors Specialization - Checklist
For admission into an Honors Specialization, you will need to complete all first-year requirements, including at least 3.0 principal courses as specified by the Department. These courses must be completed with a minimum average of 70% with no course grade below 60%. Indigenous Studies students must complete IS 1020E with a minimum grade of 60% prior to admission. To attain an Honors Specialization, 9 credits in specific combinations must be successfully completed. Major in Indigenous Studies
For a Major in Indigenous Studies, after having completed all first-year requirements with at least 3.0 principal courses and the successful completion of IS 1020E with a minimum grade of 60%, you may proceed to enrol in courses for the Indigenous Studies Major module. Minor in Indigenous Studies
